Today was solution chemistry day!
Practice working on the following typed of problems: - dilutions - ion concentration - net ionic equations - mixing questions Tomorrow we will write the unit 5 test, then finish up the solution chemistry unit! We will have a solution chemistry QUEST on Monday, followed by our titration lab!!! Today we finished up unit 5! You will have your unit 5 test Friday!!!
- remember you lab 6D is due tomorrow - hand in your bonding assigment - work on the unit 5 practice test Today we celebrated Canada!
After that we moved on into unit 5 - talking about electron configuration (form yesterday) and moving onto chemical bonding and Lewis structures. We will finish up unit 5 tomorrow, talking about periodic table trends!!! Unit 5 Test - you will write this on Friday!! Make sure you are ready to go!!! Today we had a stoic quiz followed by a % yield lab!
- This lab is our last formal lab for the course, and it is due on Thursday July 27th!!! After the break we began working on our Atomic Theory projects - these are Due to be presented on Wed July 26th On Monday we are writing our UNIT 4 TEST!!! Be sure to review, using the stoic packages you got in class and the review package from today!!! Don't forget that your Canada 150 Projects are DUE ON TUESDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Today we finished up UNIT 4 by learning about percent yield!!!
We completed a basic stoic lab and you handed in your lab calculations In class we worked on the following: - stoic hand in assignment #2 - stoic unit review package - prep for lab 6D - the last formal lab if the course Tomorrow we will write a limiting/excess stoic Quiz to start, then complete a lab and an atomic theory project!! On Monday we will write our Unit 4 Test - covering everything in the unit 4 notes package!!! Today we worked our way through stoichiometry!!!
Tomorrow we will write a small stoic quiz covering basic problems! Today we continued working on chemical reactions!!!
We completed lab 5B this morning, and you have a lab package to hand in before the end of the day on Wednesday. We also learned about energy changes in chemical reactions and how to perform molarity calculations! Tomorrow we will have a quiz on balancing, predicting products, and classifying chemical reactions!!! Tomorrow you will also be getting INTERIM REPORTS!!!!!!!!!! Today we wrote our moles test and continued working through Chemical Reactions!!!
You need to be a pro at the following: - balancing - predicting products - classifying reactions Practice using the handouts from class and by doing problems in Hebden p. 110-118 If you did not hand in the balancing and word problems assignment from class today be sure to hand it in first thing tomorrow!!! |
